Cornerstone Group - The Company with Vision

At number 27 Silverdale Street in 1991, a development of 7 shops was completed by Rick Martin, a local man with a clear vision.  Looking ahead, the next project was residential townhouses, again locally in Red Beach on the Hibiscus Coast.

By then it was 1994, and small businesses were growing strongly on the North Shore.  Cornerstone was the first developer to recognise what they needed.  Well designed, affordable, modern offices and warehousing.

Once again, Rick Martin's intuitive foresight would prove successful, and Cornerstone began to establish itself as a company that was consistently able to identify trends early.

This was to be a valuable asset, as Cornerstone moved on and became the first developer to realise the demand for studio warehouse units, a mixed use concept that showed again a shrewd understanding of what the Auckland property market wanted.

Next came the Nautilus in Orewa, a striking multi-storey 153 unit apartment complex completed in 2004.  Demand for this level of coastal luxury would lead to Takapuna Beach and the Sentinel, another first.

At 142 metres high, The Sentinel is the tallest building on the North Shore, setting a new benchmark for luxury apartment living in New Zealand.  This was achieved by combining spacious modern apartments with a permanent level of service only seen in five star hotels.  A true first for Auckland, and the interest was strong from the beginning.

The Sentinel was completed in 2008 and Cornerstone is already well underway with further innovative projects designed to meet the future demands of New Zealand's growing population.
