About Rick

Rick Martin, 49, was born in Waimauku and moved to Orewa when he was 7 years old, where he has remained for all his adult life other than a few years away in Australia. Rick is married to Tania and father of Elliott, Corban, Munroe.
Rick has always been a keen cyclist competing in a variety of races including Round the Lake, Rotorua to Taupo, Hamilton to Auckland, as well as multi-sport competitions.

Previously he raced motorcycles but gave this up approximately five years ago when he took up dirt bike riding. In the last few years he has also ventured into car racing in his Audi RS4, competing in sprint and endurance races, and also five Targa events with co-driver Roy Crane.
Rick is the Sole Director of Cornerstone Group, a successful property development company based on Auckland’s North Shore. Formed in 1992 Cornerstone has built over 1000 units to date with a total sales turnover of over $400 million. The most recent project completed being the 30-storey Sentinel - the North Shore’s tallest building comprising 117 apartments and 7 retail units.
